The concept of the Innovation Center

At the start of 2019, I began designing and developing space within our corporate office to be the new FrameworkLTC Innovation Center. This space is dedicated to on-going learning and testing, and is available to all team members, as well as visitors. The idea behind the FrameworkLTC Innovation Center was one born out of insight – a collaborative, physical space where our team can come together to learn products, applications, and workflow in a real-world simulation of a pharmacy.

Hands-on experience

The FrameworkLTC Innovation Center provides the opportunity for individuals to experience the entire LTC pharmacy process from order intake through toting and shipping. Not only do visitors get to see the pharmacy process, they get to be part of it. This experience allows for hands-on, practical exposure to the way a real-world pharmacy would operate. This exposure plays a key part in influencing overarching employee learning, development, and an enhanced customer experience. Our ability to provide the “lab” and not just the “lecture” gives us an intangible edge, offering a holistic approach to training, testing, and development.

Industry partnerships

Along with the entire suite of FrameworkLTC products and applications that are available within the FrameworkLTC Innovation Center, we have also partnered with Cubex Technologies. Among a litany of solutions, Cubex Technologies delivers automated dispensing units to medical, veterinary, and dental operations. Inside the FrameworkLTC Innovation Center are two state-of-the-art MedBank Mini units.
The MedBank Mini units are designed to support rapid initiation of first dose and e-kit medications, while reducing the risk of medication errors. The addition of the MedBank Minis further provides our team key insight into facility operations.

Looking ahead

As the FrameworkLTC Innovation Center officially opens this year, I am thrilled to provide this training and enablement opportunity to my colleagues. While is it important to periodically look behind at those precious lessons learned, it is crucially important to continuously look ahead for new and exciting ways to innovate.
