Perform
physical inventory of your formulary
Use PharmScan.NET's Inventory Collector to perform physical
inventory of the drug products in your pharmacy formulary.
With PharmScan you can download your pharmacy formulary
to the hand held computer. Then take the hand held computer(s)
to your shelf and scan the manufacturers barcode on the
package. Full or partial packages can be recorded. When
finished, return to your desktop computer and upload the
physical inventory to print variance reports and update your
on-hand quantities for all of the products in your formulary.

Absolute
Accuracy
PharmScan.NET matches the barcode on the prescription
label to the manufacturer's barcode on the product's
package - anywhere in the pharmacy. An audible signal
and on-screen warning alerts to mistakes. |
Eliminate
dispensing errors
The Rx NDC Verifier is used during the filling
process to assure that the drug product identified on the
label is the drug product that is being dispensed. PharmScan
will allow you to scan the NDC number bar-coded on the
prescription label, and then scan the manufacturer's barcode
on the product package. If the NDC numbers match, PharmScan
records the ID of the pharmacist/technician filling the
script and the date and time it was filled. If the drug
product being dispensed does not match the label, an audible
attention signal is generated, along with an on-screen
warning, and the user is not permitted to fill the script.
Dispensing information is later uploaded to FrameworkLTC®.
Define and
track shipping totes
Use the Manage Shipping Totes function to define
shipping totes, the destination facility, and the expected
ship date on your PharmScan computer. Scan the order
number on the prescription label and the shipping tote ID when
placing an order in the tote. If the tote is bound for a
different facility than the order, the user will be notified
with an audible signal. During the Final Review
process, the pharmacist/technician shipping the order, as well
as a date/time stamp is recorded in the PharmScan computer.
This information is then uploaded to FrameworkLTC® allowing
the user to print packing slips by shipping tote for the
orders included in the tote.
PharmScan allows your pharmacists to remain mobile
and work efficiently, while assuring quality during the
dispensing and review process.
